The owners’ brief was to create a fresh contemporary eatery, with a stylish and relaxed feel. The refurbishment included flooring, wall paint and cladding, lighting, upgrade of existing tables, artwork and accessories.
With this brief in mind, Munro & Co created a Scandinavian inspired concept.
A pale birch ply clad the central kitchen block and front counter face which offset the perimeter white plaster walls. The polished concrete floor provided a sleek background to the glass pendants and an unattractive window issue was resolved with a bright green foliage wall. A pale aqua paint softens the hard lines of the raking ceiling, the colour repeated in ceramic ware and artwork. Spots grazed light over the ply paneling and the working areas while clear glass diamond pendants with warm brass fittings provided a cool fresh ambience.
